Willy Caballero is battling to stay with Chelsea.
The Daily Star says Chelsea will only offer goalkeeper Caballero a new contract if they can fulfil their home-grown quota for next season.
Despite not getting any younger, Chelsea bosses are weighing up extending his stay again at Stamford Bridge.
This will depend on how the Blues fill out their squad next season though, with several home-grown talents due to leave.
Gary Cahill and Danny Drinkwater are anticipated to leave the club, while third choice goalkeeper Rob Green will also be out of contract.
Chelsea often opt to fill one their three goalkeeping positions with a home-grown stopper.
But the mass exodus means they will have to find several more British players to pad out their squad if they are to retain Caballero's services.
