Real Madrid president Florentino Perez could've held Zinedine Zidane to a stunning €10 MILLION penalty after he quit a fortnight ago.
Zidane walked out on the final year of his contract as Real ended the season trophyless.
ABC via Fussball Transfers says within the contract was a clause which stated if Zidane did not fulfil his entire deal, he would need to pay €10m to break the agreement.
However, Florentino chose to waive the clause, despite wanting the Frenchman to stay.
The president had included the clause after Zidane's first resignation in 2018 after winning the Champions League. The Frenchman blindsided Florentino when announcing his departure just days after their victory over Liverpool in the Kyiv final.
It left Real scrambling, which eventually led to Julen Lopetegui being hired and sacked, then Santiago Solari suffering the same fate, before Zidane made a celebrated return towards the end of that season.
