Real Madrid pulled out of the battle for Paul Pogba over his agent's commission, it is claimed.
Pogba left Juventus in the summer for Manchester United in a world record €100 million deal.
Speaking to Radio Cope, Spanish journalist Paco Gonzalez revealed Real coach Zinedine Zidane had hoped to sign the Frenchman.
"It is true that Zidane wanted Paul Pogba to improve his midfield physically," said Gonzalez.
"But when they learned that Mino Raiola wanted a commission of about €25m, the leaders of Real Madrid have backtracked."
