Newcastle United are working the Bosman market this month.

The Evening Chronicle says Newcastle have made a pre-contract offer to Marseille attacker Andre Ayew.

The Magpies are long-time admirers of the Ghanaian winger and it has been revealed the 25-year-old has decided to run his contract down in the summer.

Newcastle are looking at a number of free agents in the coming transfer window, including Basel centre-back Fabian Schar and Celta Vigo winger Michael Krohn-Dehli.
