Leicester City striker Islam Slimani has been signed by Newcastle United injured.
The Mirror says Slimani eased Rafa Benitez's worries by joining Newcastle on deadline day — but he is not fit to play.
The Leicester striker headed to Tyneside on loan, as Benitez finally landed one of his main transfer window targets.
But Slimani has a thigh injury and is expected to be out for a fortnight, missing matches against Crystal Palace on Sunday and Manchester United a week later.
He is also ineligible to play against the Foxes on April 7 — meaning Benitez has gambled on him making an impact in a maximum of 10 games.
