Jose Mourinho was desperate to sign Alphonso Davies for Manchester United, it has been revealed.

Nick Huoseh, a former coach of Davies, has opened up on United's failed move for the Bayern Munich star.

He claims Mourinho was extremely keen on the Canadian but United took too long allowing Bayern to swoop in for the Vancouver Whitecaps prospect.

Huoseh told Sky Sports: "When Jose Mourinho was there, he really wanted him but it never happened.

"They waited and waited, and at the end I don't think they had the same vision and belief as Munich."
