Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho was full of praise for Luke Shaw in front of his teammates after victory over Leicester City.

Mourinho also talked up Andreas Pereira inside the home dressing room.

United kicked off their Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory over the Foxes, with Paul Pogba's penalty and Shaw's first professional goal settling the points.

Metro reports the Portuguese had a smile back on his face, at least in private, after the triumph at Old Trafford, and made it clear to his squad in the aftermath that Shaw and Pereira had impressed him.

The eulogising of Shaw will be particularly positive for the left-back, who appeared to be on his way out of United this summer after two seasons of criticism.
