Manchester United superkid Mason Greenwood is a £600 signing, it has been revealed.
His local club, Idle FC near Bradford, used the cash to pay for new kits and equipment.
An Old Trafford scout spoke to Marcus Strudwick, the Idle chairman, and asked Greenwood's dad if his son would like to train at United's development centre in Halifax.
United gave Strudwick a £600 cheque, and the young striker was on the road to a career at Old Trafford.
Strudwick told The Times: “With hindsight, I should have taken a picture of the cheque.
“The money went towards buying new kit, equipment and setting up a new team."
