REVEALED: Man Utd negotiations for Varane included whizbang presentation to player

Manchester United landed Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane in part thanks to a presentation to the Frenchman.

United's successful €50m swoop even stretched to a presentation by the club's newlook backroom staff to finally land their long-term target, says the Telegraph.

Led by director of football negotiations Matt Judge, the Red Devils' usually complex process of conducting deals, which has been heavily criticised in the past, has now been streamlined.

Judge's role in the presentation helped wow the Frenchman before they finally agreed a deal in principle earlier this week.

United's football director John Murtough and technical director Darren Fletcher also helped drive home the culture and philosophy at Old Trafford, as they looked to persuade a target, who they have been chasing for two years, to join their cause.
