Manchester United and Manchester City retain an interest in Velez Sarsfield starlet Thiago Almada.

That's according to local reporter Nico De la Rua, of Cancha Argentina.

De la Rua revealed: “It's no secret that he's liked by Marseille sporting director Pablo Longoria.

"But Barça, Atlético, the two clubs from Manchester and all the big clubs in Europe are after him."

Almada has a deal with Velez to 2023 and saw a €20m offer from one unnamed European club turned down last summer.
