REVEALED: Man Utd made move for Juventus keeper Szczesny

Manchester United were keen on signing former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny from Juventus last summer, it has been revealed.

The Poland international, who left the Gunners for Juve in 2017, has established himself as No 1 for the Italian champions over the last two years.

However, that didn't stop United making an inquiry about Szczesny's availability as they looked at potential replacements for David de Gea, says Goal.

The report claims that United contacted the Serie A giants before De Gea committed his future to them by signing a new £375,000-a-week deal until 2023.

The club's interest in Szczesny, who spent eight years as an Arsenal player after joining as a youngster from Legia Warsaw in 2006, is likely to have least been put on hold for now.
