Manchester United made a massive bid for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly in the final weeks of the Premier League transfer window.

Corriere dello Sport says United made an £82m bid for Koulibaly before the transfer window shut last week.

However, Napoli rejected the bid straight away.

It is not clear whether this reported bid was before or after United's £80m signing of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.

Koulibaly has also been linked with Inter Milan this summer.
