Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal IS serious about signing Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia.

Despite deals for Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin, Van Gaal also wants to bring the 29 year-old Argentine to Old Trafford this month.

Van Gaal decided to move for Biglia after chatting with AZ Alkmaar coach John van den Brom.

Van den Brom worked with Biglia at Anderlecht and Van Gaal asked him about whether he should move for midfielder.

The response was an emphatic "Yes" from Van den Brom, reports Het Laatste Nieuws.
