REVEALED: Man Utd boss Solskjaer in whistle-stop Salzburg trip for Haaland talks

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made a whistle-stop trip to Salzburg on Friday, it has been revealed.

VG says after overseeing United's Europa League victory over AZ, Solskjaer was in Salzburg the following day where he met with Alf-Inge Haaland.

Solskjaer was back in England before the end of the day, but is said to have met with Haaland to discuss the situation regarding his son, RB Salzburg striker Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian's meeting was made two days after Haaland Jr had visited Germany, where talks with RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund were held - and confirmed.

Haaland Snr was quoted by VG this morning: "I hope you understand that I can't comment on all the rumors going on now."

At United, the players did not have a training session held on Friday and instead spent the day in the gym.

Solskjaer and the Haaland family have been close since he gave Erling his debut as Molde coach. The striker recently said of Solskjaer: "He has played a very big role for me. The way he was with me, how he trained me and what he taught me ... It has had a very big impact on being who I am today."
