REVEALED: Man Utd boss Solskjaer chose Telles over PSG signing Mendes

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to compete for new PSG signing Nuno Mendes over the summer, it has been revealed.

The left-back left Sporting CP for PSG last month, but only after Manchester City had failed with a €20m offer in June. Mendes would eventually join PSG for €40m.

United had also been linked with the youngster, though no formal bid was tabled.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano insists Solskjaer made the decision as he was happy with his left-back options Luke Shaw and Alex Telles.

Telles had been linked with a move away over the summer, though Solskjaer chose to keep the Brazilian ahead of competing for Mendes.
