REVEALED: Man Utd board have no plans for Pochettino approach

Manchester United's board is standing by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Daily Mail says United will continue to back Solskjaer despite their painful Champions League exit in Leipzig and the availability of Mauricio Pochettino.

Solskjaer's future at Old Trafford is in question again following Tuesday's 3-2 defeat and he will come under greater scrutiny if United lose the Manchester derby at home this weekend.

Pochettino has not worked since leaving Tottenham 13 months ago, and it is understood he has been waiting to see if the United job comes up.

However, Old Trafford sources insisted last night that the club is committed to Solskjaer and a long-term plan to break the hire-and-fire cycle since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

They are confident the team are heading in the right direction and believe it would make no sense to sack the manager now, despite seeing Solskjaer's men drop into the Europa League.
