Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes was blocked from a loan departure on deadline day last week.
The Manchester Evening News says Gomes's camp made a last-ditch attempt to secure the 19-year-old a loan to a top-flight team on Friday, even though the United youngster was with the Under-23s in Norwich in the evening.
Gomes started for the U23s in their 2-1 win at Carrow Road on Friday night and the game finished two hours before the 11pm deadline for clubs to sign players.
United were never going to sanction a loan move for Gomes when he is out of contract at the end of the season, and blocked a loan move his representatives had lined up in the winter window last term.
Gomes has entered the last five months of his contract and United risk losing him on a free in the summer after he rejected their opening offer. United remain in dialogue with Gomes but a source told the MEN his representatives were 'underwhelmed' by the club's terms.
