Manchester City have made an attempt for Barcelona attacker Antoine Griezmann.

City are in the market for a new striker as they seek an eventual successor for veteran Sergio Aguero.

RAC1 says City have made an approach for France World Cup winner Griezmann.

The move was made in the wake of Lionel Messi's decision to withdraw his transfer request a fortnight ago as City switched their sights from the Argentine to his teammate.

However, the enquiry was quickly given short shrift by both Griezmann's camp and Barca.
