Liverpool winger Ryan Kent is ready to cancel his loan with SC Freiburg this week.

Kent has battled for minutes since joining on a season-long deal in August and Liverpool coaching staff are concerned his progress has stalled.

Badische Zeitung says Kent has already said his farewell to Freiburg teammates as he packs his bags to return home to Merseyside.

The England U21 midfielder managed just seven appearances with Freiburg before the Bundesliga broke up for its winter break.

A move to the Championship is likely for Kent, with Derby County, Leeds United and Middlesbrough all keen to take over his loan to the end of this season.
