Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp remains open to bringing Napoli attacker Piotr Zielinski to Merseyside.
The Pole has been a target for Klopp since his days with Udinese and featured as a second-half substitute in Tuesday's Champions League defeat at Anfield.
Sportmediaset says Liverpool have made enquiries this week about Zielinski and were quoted €100m by Napoli.
The Reds see that as too steep and intermediaries believe Napoli can be talked down to €65m.
Just in October, Zielinski recalled an attempt by Liverpool to sign him two years ago.
"My head was a mess.
"Liverpool finally put a plan together and I met Jürgen Klopp. He said he wanted me in his team.
"I saw another world and after returning, my head was even more muddled."
