Real Madrid midfielder Rodrygo Goes could've been turning out for Liverpool in tonight's Champions League final.
The Brazilian has long been admired by Reds manager Jurgen Klopp, who wanted to sign a 16 year-old Rodrygo early into his tenure at Anfield.
AS says Klopp was fascinated with the Brazilian player when taking his first steps at Santos.
Klopp, at a time when Liverpool was rebuilding, even considered going to Brazil to see the young prodigy play, but that was not even necessary. A representative of the Reds tabled a proposal, based on €6m, plus bonuses, but Santos decided not to accept, convinced the best solution would be to wait at least a year and double or triple their money.
Eventually, in 2019, Rodrygo was sold to Real Madrid for €45m.
