Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane blocked Kepa Arrizabalaga's signing last month, it has been claimed.

Real were prepared to pay Kepa's buyout clause to bring him to Madrid from Athletic Bilbao in January, but LaLiga expert Guillem Balague says the deal was blocked personally by Zidane.

Balague stated on Sky Sports: "All conditions were met to welcome Kepa Arrizabalaga this winter.

"He even had a medical visit, but it was Zinedine Zidane who personally blocked his arrival."

Kepa has since penned a new deal with Bilbao and ended all talk of a move to Real Madrid.
