Real Madrid midfielder Isco was axed for the Champions League win at AS Roma after a row with coach Santiago Solari.
Cadena Cope's Manolo Lama reports the decision was made after a clash on the weekend following defeat at Eibar.
"The reason for not calling Isco today in Rome is a lack of respect for Solari, which could have occurred last weekend," he said.
"The idea was that he would not travel to Rome, but he did so to avoid the focus being on him and all the attention."
Isco watched from the Olimpico stands as Real won 2-0.
