Manchester United failed with a late bid for Porto defender Nicolas Otamendi last week.

Record says United tabled a €15 million bid for the talented Argentine on deadline day.

But Porto refused to consider the sale as they were locked in talks with Manchester City over the departure of Eliaquim Mangala and did not want to be caught short.
