Chelsea could have signed Alisson Becker from Roma when he was being linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Blues are now in a conundrum with their keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who is likely to move on in the summer.
The club want a replacement to improve on him, and now it is revealed they could have nicked Alisson from Liverpool in 2018.
The Athletic reports that Chelsea had deep talks with Roma to get Alisson to London.
But their chief Marina Granovskaia decided to keep Thibaut Courtois instead.
The latter eventually went to Real Madrid, which is when Chelsea signed Kepa.
Alisson has gone on to become one of the best in the world, as he helped to lead Liverpool to the Champions League last season.
