Manchester City have a deal in place for PSG prospect Claudio Gomes.

Le Parisien says City will welcome the France U18 international to England in July when his PSG contract expires.

Key to the deal has been City coach Mikel Arteta, who is a former PSG midfielder.

The Spaniard spoke directly with Gomes and convinced him to move to City ahead of rival interest from Barcelona.

Arteta informed Gomes he would train immediately with the senior squad in preseason before being loaned out to a major club to enjoy his first taste of senior football.

It was this career plan which convinced Gomes to quit PSG and agree to join City at the end of this season.
