Matteo Guendouzi clashed with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta and his staff while in Dubai, it has been revealed.

The Telegraph says Guendouzi is said to have clashed with Arteta and his backroom team on the training pitch in a dispute which continued at the team hotel later that evening.

Arteta's aides had reservations about the 20-year-old's attitude and body language while in the Middle East and allegedly received a fiery response when they made it known.

Some Gunners stars have been taken aback by Arteta's demanding ways since he arrived in December to take on his first managerial post.

The Spanish coach is not afraid to rule with an iron fist and has transmitted that ethos to his coaching team.

Although young, Guendouzi is one of the most outspoken members in the Arsenal squad and he did not shy away from a war of words with his seniors.

After dropping him for victory over Newcastle United, Arteta said: “The reason is that players who, in my opinion, are training better, behaving better and are more applied to deliver on the pitch what we want, are the players that are selected."
