Manchester United are regarded as favourites in Italy to land Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic.

Gazzetta dello Sport says United and their Premier League rivals Liverpool are showing an interest in the 23-year-old defender, but Old Trafford will be his most likely destination.

Milenkovic's contract with Fiorentina runs until 2022, but both himself and Franck Ribery 'have their bags packed' ready to leave this summer after turning down extensions.

The Serbian international's agent has been in contact with United since last summer.

The player is keen to make a move to England work and Manchester United will have some competition for his signature.
