REVEALED: Ex-Man Utd striker Ronaldo 'could' receive Carabao Cup winner's medal

Manchester United could offer to present Cristiano Ronaldo a Carabao Cup winners' medal this season.

The Red Devils won the League Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley on Sunday.

Goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford sealed a 2-0 win, despite Newcastle dominating possession.

Per The Mirror, Ronaldo does not automatically qualify for a medal, as he did not play any game in the competition this season.

However, Ronaldo could be awarded a medal by United, given he was a part of the squad until the World Cup break.

EFL rule 20.2 on the awarding of medals states: "In addition to the Cup, the Management Committee shall present thirty souvenirs to the winning Club in the Final Tie; and thirty souvenirs to the losing Club in the Final Tie. Additional souvenirs may be presented with the consent of the Management Committee but shall be at the cost of the requesting Club."
