REVEALED: Chelsea refused to match Spurs bid for Richarlison

Tottenham outbid Chelsea yesterday for Everton striker Richarlison.

Chelsea made a late attempt to sign the Brazil international, but could not match Tottenham's offer of £50m down plus £10m in bonuses.

Spurs and Everton had been in locked in talks for several days before Thursday's agreement.

Richarlison underwent his medical in Brazil on Thursday with Tottenham staff present and is due back in the UK next week. Watford will receive around £2m from the deal.

The Daily Mail says Everton rejected an offer of £40m at 4pm, but after Chelsea made a counter offer, Spurs returned with their new proposal, which the Blues refused to match.

Richarlison will become Antonio Conte's fourth summer signing in an impressive window after already landing Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma.
