Chelsea have lost top scout Florian Zahn to Champions League opponents Bayern Munich.

The two teams will meet in the round of 16 next week and Bayern already boast an inside advantage after nicking Zahn, 38, away from the Blues last month.

Zahn worked for Chelsea as coordinator for Central and Eastern Europe for four and a half years. Before then, the Rheinhesse was on the Kaiserslautern staff.

At Bayern, he now is part of the team of chief scout Marco Neppe, which is ultimately managed by sports director Hasan Salihamidzic.

Zahn is expected to take charge of transfers for U16 and U17 players.

Interestingly, 16 year-old Chelsea winger Samuel Iling-Junior has been linked with Bayern this week.
