Fulham blew a deadline day deal for highly-rated Bordeaux fullback Youssouf Sabaly.
Sky Sports says the Cottagers were in advanced talks to sign Sabaly on-loan during Thursday's hectic final day of the winter market.
Sabaly was eager to see the move happen, with the two clubs agreeing terms over a fee of £12m.
However, in the final MINUTES of the window in England, Fulham went dark.
Bordeaux attempted to contact Fulham via email and phone - but the Cottagers did not get back to the Ligue 1 club before the deadline fell at 11pm.
"We received an offer yesterday (Thursday) at 20:03. There was a clause in his contract that would have made this transfer. Sabaly had expressed the wish to travel to Fulham," Bordeaux president Frederic Longuepee stated yesterday.
"I am very surprised that a club is allowed to contact a player without talking to his club. There are ways and that's not the way.
"Unfortunately, beyond the fact that the club Fulham behaved badly, the conditions were absolutely not met, especially since this offer arrived at a time when, globally, you do not complete a transfer before the end from the window. We told Sabaly our negative opinion."
