Rafa Benitez is being urged to reject a move to Everton - by his own advisors.

Football Insider says the Spaniard, 61, reached an agreement with Everton on Wednesday night and was expected to be appointed on Thursday after being offered the post.

But Benitez is getting cold feet due to the protests from Blues fans at him taking over from Carlo Ancelotti.

An industry source says close allies of the former Liverpool and Newcastle boss have advised him to reject Everton's offer.

They believe Benitez would be far better off biding his time for a sensational return to St James' Park.
