Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin was left drained by pay-cut negotiations last month.
ESPN reports the negotiations took a toll on Bellerin as he felt caught between looking out for the best interests of his team-mates, while also recognising the financial realities of the north London club.
However, the report also claims Bellerin still remains fully invested in coach Mikel Arteta's vision for the future.
The 25-year-old is under contract until 2023 and this puts Arsenal in a strong position to rebuff any interest in the Spaniard.
However, there is some concern at the club that the right-back may try and push for a transfer if they fail in then plans to progress.
