Barcelona are seeking a knockdown defensive signing before the market shuts.

While they remain in talks with Manchester City for Eric Garcia, Mundo Deportivo says Barca are also seeking a more experienced option.

Former PSG captain Thiago Silva was considered before his move to Chelsea, while Arsenal veteran David Luiz has also been discussed.

The most likely option now is Ezequiel Garay.

The 33 year-old Argentine is a free agent after being allowed to come off contract from Valencia.
