REVEALED: Barcelona senior players rallied around Fati after red card

Barcelona players have assured Ansu Fati he didn't let them down after his red card in victory over Espanyol.

The teen was left distraught by the early dismissal - the first of his senior career.

Mundo Deportivo says Fati was 'sad, dejected, and crestfallen at his red card, the first of his short career'.

"He felt bad, very bad," a locker room source stated.

He had just entered the pitch to change the game, but lasted just four minutes. Left on his own in the locker room, Fati 'ached for his companions, for his older brothers', whom he'd left to finish the job.

After the win, they all tried to cheer him up and downplay the red card. Several senior teammates urged him to learn from the moment.

Fati will miss the next match against Valladolid.
