If not for Alisson, Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey would be playing for Liverpool last night, it has been revealed.
Partey helped Atletico dump Liverpool out of the Champions League last night in a stunning boilover.
But Mundo Deportivo says the midfielder was all set to join Liverpool two years ago - only for money for the deal running out.
After the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid, Liverpool made a move for Partey and were happy to pay his €50m price-tag. But Roma's world record demands to sell Alisson saw the Reds blow the remainder of their budget on the Brazilian.
And instead of signing Partey, Liverpool went for the cheaper Fabinho, then of AS Monaco.
