Arsenal have tabled a bid for Juventus defender Medhi Benatia.

The Gunners made the offer last week before Christmas Day, reports Sky Italia.

The proposal was worth €40m - but was immediately rejected by Juve management, insisting the defender is not for sale.

Benatia was being celebrated by Juve fans over Christmas after grabbing the winner against Roma last week.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have also been linked with Daniele Rugani in the English press this past week.
