Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is ready to back manager Maurizio Sarri in the January market.
Sarri is keen to add an attacking player to his squad and Chelsea scouts have put forward two names.
Goal says Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele and Lyon captain Nabil Fekir are the two names being discussed.
Fekir saw a move to Liverpool fall through last summer over medical concerns, but that hasn't put off Chelsea.
Dembele, meanwhile, has a clouded future at Barca due to a hot-and-cold relationship with coach Ernesto Valverde.
