Roman Abramovich has rejected an offer from an American financier to buy Chelsea, according to reports.
The Financial Times says the offer was made last month by Todd Boehly, a former president of asset manager Guggenheim Partners.
The report claims Mr. Boehly's offer was £3bn short of the amount Abrahmovich is currently seeking for the West London outfit.
Boehly is part of a group that owns Major League Baseball franchise, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Abrahmovich purchased Chelsea in 2003 for £140m, with the club since winning 13 major honours.
