REVEALED: 2 key reasons Liverpool boss Klopp called Mbappe Snr

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had two motivations in calling the father of PSG striker Kylian Mbappe last week, it has been revealed.

Le 10 Sport says Mbappe would cost around £250m, but Liverpool, in theory, would use the £150m from the sale of Sadio Mane to fund most of the deal.

Klopp recently spoke to Mbappe's dad Wilfried to discuss signing his son for Liverpool.

Klopp made the call for two reasons: to personally declare Liverpool's interest in snapping up the World Cup winner and to sell his vision for his son.

Mbappe hasn't spoken out on Liverpool's alleged interest in him in recent weeks, but he has previously talked about Klopp, and what he has achieved at Anfield.

"What Liverpool do in this moment is amazing," Mbappe told the BBC. "They're like a machine, they've found a rhythm and are like we play again, we play again.

"Now the problem is that everybody watches Liverpool, and everybody watches what we can do against them, so now they have to show they are strong again but it's a very good team with a very good manager."
