Return of Man Utd's Fletcher will boost Scotland - Dalglish

Scotland great Kenny Dalglish has welcomed the imminent international return of Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher.

A chronic bowel condition has kept the 30-year old out of the Scotland team since October 2012 but he could play some part when Gordon Strachan's men travel to Warsaw to meet Poland early next month.

That possibility sits very well with Dalglish who believes Fletcher will bring plenty of stability and leadership back to the Scotland line-up.

"Having Darren back is very important," said Dalglish.

"He's one of the players who the team will look up to, look to for encouragement. Not having one of your better players - or indeed your best player - available for a couple of years has been a big blow for Scotland, because we don't have many guys of Darren's quality.

"He's just a fantastic footballer. I don't know him personally but I see him being interviewed, how he conducts himself, and I think he's an impressive boy, mature and very humble too."
