Rennes defender Damien de Silva: We couldn't handle Arsenal pressing

Rennes defender Damien de Silva admits the players were floored after last night's defeat at Arsenal.

The 3-0 reverse saw Rennes eliminated from the Europa League 4-3 on aggregate.

De Silva said: "It's a lot of disappointment, we really believed it, there was room to score at least one goal, there was really room to score that goal that would have taken us into overtime.

"As much in the first half we suffered a lot, they choked us, scoring two goals. We thought it was really going to turn in the second half. They were eleven, one to ten. I found them better than last time.

"They were effective, that's what we missed tonight. At the beginning of the match, we lost too many balls, due to their pressing, we had tension, we were not at home. We wanted to play free, it was hard with their pressing. In the second half, it was much harder, we wanted to put them in trouble but we did not manage to test them."
