Rennes coach Julien Stephan has hit out at Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma over his advice to Eduardo Camavinga.

After victory at their Champions League opponents, Zouma spoke to Camavinga about staying calm under pressure.

But Stephan stated in response today: "They gave us almost the same ball in the first half. You always have to analyse everything. I haven't heard anyone say for 48 hours that there was exactly the same situation for us.

“The difference at this very high level is that they punished us, we didn't punish them. The only truth is that. The very high level is to seize your opportunities.

"I don't think (Frank) Lampard is asking his defenders to clear. It responds to a context, a circumstance. We also kicked long, we kicked several, long balls. We want to make this sequence a generality. Look at what happened, there was exactly the same situation on both sides, exactly the same."
