Lucas Joao is the subject of praise from Sheffield Wednesday colleague Jose Semedo.
The 22-year-old made his debut for Portugal in a friendly defeat to Russia on the weekend in what has been a dramatic rise for the talented winger.
Joao only joined Wednesday from Nacional in the summer and has proved his talent by making his international debut while playing for a Championship club, which Owls teammate Semedo highlighted.
"He's remarkable. I don't remember any other player playing second division and getting picked by Portugal," Semedo told BBC Radio Sheffield.
"It's a great achievement and it is massive for the club too because Portugal is one of the best countries in the world.
"I love the way he plays. He combines power, pace, skill and he's a big guy."
Angola-born Joao, who has four goals in 18 appearances for Wednesday, has impressed Everton with his performances in the second tier and has subsequently emerged as a winter target for the Toffees.
