Released Real Madrid midfielder Lucas Silva is open to a return to Ligue 1.

Cut loose by Real this week, Silva has previous experience in Ligue 1 with Olympique Marseille.

He told Foot Mercato: "Ligue 1 has great clubs and players who represent their national teams around the world, I had a strong experience there, and that can be a possibility.

"Since my departure, the championship has only grown and progressed, today it is among the best. People who take care of my career manage the discussions and I, I stand back, I focus on training, my physical and mental preparation to be ready when something's concrete."
