Released Man City youngster Logan snapped up by Brentford

New Brentford boss Uwe Rosler has swooped for the signature of defender Shaleum Logan from his former club Manchester City. The 23-year-old has signed a one-year deal, which includes the option of a second year should he make an unspecified number of appearances next season after being released by the Premiership outfit.

"Shaleum is a player who has been well educated in football terms, having come through the ranks at Manchester City," Rosler told the club's official website.

"He was on the fringes of the first team under Sven-Goran Eriksson and Mark Hughes but more recently fell down the pecking order a little bit.

"It is a great opportunity for us to get such a good player to Brentford. He can play both right and left-back to a good level and it is important to have players who can play in different positions when you have a small squad.

"When I spoke to him I felt he realised where he is in his career and he wants to be somewhere where he will play regular first team football.

"We believe we can help him kick start and develop his career still further and in doing so give Brentford Football Club good service."
