Released Manchester City wing-back Kingsley Grandison is impressing in preseason trials at Spain's Racing Portuense.
Grandison and former Nottingham Forest defender Carl Sibson are both chasing contracts at Racing as part of the Nextstars scheme.
Nextstars is the brainchild of former Watford trainee John Gontier and is designed to assist released players from English clubs get back into the pro game at Racing.
"Kingsley did exceptionally well in our and his first friendly of the season. He was fast, took on defenders and always fought to win back the ball even when it wasn't him who had lost it," Gontier told tribalfootball.com.
"I had told him this is always a good sign in Spain as only few players here do it."
Sibson, unfortunately, collected an ankle injury last week.
