Reims defender Björn Engels: Arsenal move would be a dream

Reims defender Björn Engels admits he'd love to move to Arsenal.

Belgian centre-back Engels, who is on loan at the Ligue 1 club from Olympiakos, has previously spoken of his desire to play in England during his career.

And speaking to L'Equipe over the weekend, the 24-year-old suggested he had been the subject of interest from Everton in the past.

“Not right now, but if my level continues to rise, it will come," he said.

"I've been there a couple of times in the past, maybe next time is the right one. Arsenal? It would be a dream. But playing in England, it would be already top."

However, Engels admitted he will line up in a different shade of red if his Liverpool-supporting wife has anything to do with it.

He added: “She's from Liverpool and all her family is a fan of the Reds.

"When Everton was interested in me, she said to me laughing: Everton is ok, but never Man United!"
