Reid determined to make latest Blackburn comeback

Steven Reid is determined to shake-off his knee problems at Blackburn Rovers.

The midfielder said: "I will definitely be involved in pre-season. Whether or not I will be ready for a game straight away I am not quite sure at the minute.

"If the injured lads are back, playing at our best we can compete at this level. But with Tugay, Aaron and Andre leaving the manager is still going to have to strengthen the squad.

"He will want to bring in new faces, although we finished safe in the league we were down there for a reason. I am sure the manager will want to make sure that doesn't happen again.

"I have no doubt there is going to be competition for places but that is what we want and what we need in the squad.

"I am sure the manager is aware of what I can do and if I can get myself back to 100 per cent, which I am confident I can do, then I can get back in his plans."
